At V6 Energy, we believe that "facts are friends", and we strive to capitalize are hard facts in resolving metering issues.
Does your existing metering have any of these issues:
Installed but not working
We have assisted many customers in getting meters, previously installed, online and communicating properly.
1+1=3 or 2+2=3
Are you having trouble getting your submeters to true-up to your utility usage? This issue is more common than you think. The sum of the parts is supposed to be equal to the whole, except when it's not! In an example case, a building is supposedly 100% submetered. 30+ submeters for common areas, HVAC, lighting load, plug load, etc. Totaling the submeter readings results in readings that either fall short of, or far exceed, the utility metered service. The utility meter is wrong - doubtful! It can be a real challenge to find and resolve the issue(s). One meter in the group is wrong - a few meters are wrong - all the meters are wrong. We keep an open mind and have outstanding results! We have assisted many customers in finding and resolving this category of metering issue.
Submeter readings off
The readings in the example above are off. You've determined that all the submeters are installed and operating properly, but there are still issues. Are the meters truly placed at the desired points? We can help identify and validate the meter placement and actual readings.
Erroneous power factor readings
Another common metering issue, that can skew the reported meter data, is power factor. Power factor is a common measure of real electrical power. In the electrical metering world, erroneous power factor readings are a common sign of metering installation issues. We can help identify the root cause of meter power factor issues.
Meters not communicating
Are your meters not communicating at all? We have extensive experience in meter communication via pulse, serial Modbus, Modbus/TCP, and BACnet and communications issues related to each.
Our analysis and problem-solving services are summarized as:
End to end operational confirmation and correction
Troubleshooting of existing metering systems
